JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To ensure the safety of the municipality's residents, the rescue service has a community mission to prevent and combat fires and other types of accidents.

As a standby rescue service personnel (also known as a part-time firefighter), you help create safety in the community, and you have a desire to assist others who need help and support. You will be dispatched to various emergency situations such as fires, medical alarms, traffic accidents, drownings, and other urgent situations where lives may be at risk.

To handle these job responsibilities, you will undergo extensive training to gain the necessary skills for the profession. Therefore, you do not need any prior knowledge in the field, as you will learn along the way.

You will be on standby every third week and will respond to alarms together with other standby rescue service personnel and an incident commander.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills. You have high personal maturity and can remain calm in stressful situations. You have a service-oriented approach and a willingness to help others.

Requirements for the position include being healthy and in good physical condition. Your physical status will be checked twice a year using a treadmill test. Additionally, regular medical examinations/health checks will be conducted.

You must also have permission from your primary employer to leave the workplace during alarms and training.

A B driver's license (car) and a C driver's license (truck) are required for the position. If you do not have a C driver's license, there is an opportunity to obtain one within a year through your employment. This is partially funded by Sävsjö municipality.

If you meet the basic requirements, you may undergo job-related tests where various physical tests are conducted, as well as swimming and lifesaving skills are assessed.
